TWG Episode 9

For several years now, homeowners in Greater Fort Lauderdale have seen record home values and sale prices. Veteran real estate brokers specializing in listing homes for sale have grown accustomed to friends, family and neighbors asking what their house is worth.

Many never imagined their home in Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Coral Ridge, Oakland Park or Wilton Manors would list and sell for as much as homes are going for.

In this episode of my YouTube Channel Tuesdays with Gary, we explore how Boomers are taking advantage of a fast changing market.

The team at the Gary Lanham Group are hearing comments and questions almost daily. So we’re left to educate homeowners about the merits of selling their homes in this market, as well as finding the right buyers who are qualified and eager to purchase their first or next Broward County home.

Home buyers are easy to find. With almost 900 people moving into Florida each day, buyers abound. How do we find sellers? We look at the demographics. They typically are Baby Boomers aged from about 58 to 72. They’ve been in their homes for decades, raising their families and watching their children grow up and leave the nest.

As empty nesters, they’re left alone in a large home with monthly bills that don’t stop, even if their work-related income has.

Their options are to remain in the home they know, love and feel comfortable in. Or they can sell their home and tap that equity to downsize into another property more suitable to their new reality.

If you’re wondering what your next steps may be, and you’ve been contacted by mail, flier or a knock on your door by one of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s 36,000 Realtors, now’s the time to look for expert advice.

Let’s talk. My team can walk you through how to tap the equity in your home and right-size into your next home.
